I’m Kirsten and this is my very own Society – of wool! The Society was born out of my love of creativity. I’ve always knitted – but I was never inspired to knit for myself. I can still recall the sheer delight I felt when I came across Wool and the Gang. Modern styles and designs, beautiful yarns in current fashion colours, all in a kit. I was inspired by the reactions I got from other people when I completed my first project. So many people said they would love to make something but had never learned to knit – so in collaboration with Wool and the Gang we are aiming to make sure knitting here in New Zealand can be celebrated, and shared.

We have arranged to be the exclusive distributor of Wool and the Gang product locally from our online store. Simple patterns for all skill levels from a beginner to the experienced, whether you choose to do this on your own, or with a group of friends or colleagues at work, there are exclusive party kits. Society of Wool will also be hosting parties at select locations.

There are a huge number of people taking part in the revival of knitting all over the world. At the Society we are aiming to create a movement based on three simple ideas…
